Innovating Landscape Management: Earth Observation technologies taking the lead

Date: 3 October 2018

Time: 9:15am – 12:45

Venue: DOCK Leicester

During the last 20 years, space Earth monitoring technologies reached commercial maturity. The paradigms of open and free data and software, the advent of cloud computing, the launch of swarms of nanosatellites and the spread of new commercial data providers are multiplying the opportunities to monitor landscape surface changes and land use patterns while simplifying access to earth resources information, enabling new or improved products and services. This in turn is generating additional turnover, with an average growth of 8.6% year-on-year since 2010 [The Case for Space 2015. The impact of Space on the UK economy. 2015, London Economics].

This workshop is for all SMEs working in the agriculture, forestry, energy, constructions, urban planning and urban monitoring sectors, directly or indirectly involved in the management of natural resources, seeking the potential to expand their business and create new products, processes and services. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of how satellite data is changing landscape management while providing networking opportunities to learn from your industry peers and seek out support from sector experts.
