Copernicus Masters

The Copernicus Masters looks for innovative applications of satellite Earth Observation data that could develop into a product or service with commercial potential.  The competition is based around a series of themed Challenges supported by a competition partner.  This year, the Satellite Applications Catapult and the UK Space Agency are supporting a Challenge around ‘Data Visualisation’.

This year the competition is looking for ideas that have been

  • Developed with a user/customer to show how they will use the service with the solution to help make the data more accessible
  • Developed using visualisation technologies anything from gaming software to 3D modelling, AR and VR but all developed to help turn data into actionable intelligence

Ideas can help solve challenges across any market sector and the competition is open to individuals, teams, start-ups, early stage companies and there is a University Challenge.

The Data Visualisation Challenge prize includes a comprehensive business support package from the Satellite Applications Catapult and a funded trip to the International Award Ceremony which takes place this year in France.

You can enter by completing a short online questionnaire about your idea and you can be at any stage in the development of your product or service.  Applications are welcome from individuals with a great idea up to start-ups who have developed a prototype service they are testing with users.  You can be at any stage of development to benefit from the business support.

You might also be eligible for the Copernicus Accelerator programme which provides mentoring for your business over a 9 month period after the International Award Ceremony.
