Small Scale Manufacturing for AeroSpace

With a rapidly growing space sector in Cornwall, local businesses are in a prime position to take advantage of new opportunities for manufacturing for (aero)space applications.

Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd together with AeroSpace Cornwall are hosting a round table event to pitch proposals for space related manufacturing in Cornwall and develop working groups for collaborative projects.

There will be informal presentations on current and future (aero)space manufacturing plans from within the county, and then a round table where individuals can discuss their visions in more detail, and match their expertise to see if collaborations in this area can open up new business opportunities within the Southwest. The event aims to kick-start a discussion among businesses in the region that can be taken forward, and will be a chance to bring together businesses already involved in manufacturing but without an (aero)space focus with businesses involved in activities around (aero)space but without active manufacturing.

Join us at Goonhilly to discuss your plans and ideas!

About AeroSpace Cornwall:

AeroSpace Cornwall is led by Cornwall Development Company, delivered in partnership with the West of England Aerospace Forum (WEAF). It aims to increase the size and capability of the space and aerospace sectors in Cornwall and secure ongoing investment in them. A central platform of the programme is to develop an ‘innovation environment’ for the aerospace and space sectors by encouraging local businesses to collaborate and engage with other business across the UK as well as research institutions.
• R&D funding for projects with a typical consortia project receiving an average of £125K (although there may be exceptions to this)
• Innovation Vouchers of up to £5,000.
• Other assistance includes a ‘supply chain competitiveness toolkit’ which can lead to SC21 – a nationally recognised change management toolkit.
• The programme is able to support business relocation to Cornwall, such as feasibility studies, travel assistance, and promotional activities.
